About Reklaim Credit Solutions

Reklaim Credit Solutions is a commercial credit rating and reporting agency purpose-built for the state-regulated cannabis industry.

Cannabis operators move billions of dollars in product every year on trade credit. Almost none of it is backed by the kind of independent credit evaluation that is routine in every other industry. The major commercial credit agencies have not touched cannabis, so operators have been left to underwrite counterparties on instinct, selective trade references, investor demands, pressure from salespeople and word of mouth.

Every company learns who pays and who does not the expensive way. Privately.
One write-off at a time. Big and small.

Reklaim Credit Solutions exists to close that gap.

We operate a contributory network. Operators contribute their monthly accounts receivable aging data and receive back individual credit and industry credit scores, suggested credit limits, full commercial credit reports and continuous AR monitoring. Contributed data is de-identified immediately on arrival and is never attributed back to the company that provided it. What comes back is a full credit picture of your buyer, from your accounts that pay on time to the ones that are quietly deteriorating.

Our credit scoring runs on an ensemble of neural network models trained on cannabis accounts receivable data. Public records, including regulatory and licensing status, judgments, tax liens, and UCC filings, appear in our reporting and monitoring so that a credit manager sees the full context around a counterparty.

Know Who Won’t Pay Before They Don’t Pay

Our mission

To give anyone doing business within the regulated cannabis industry the ability to make an informed credit decision about any counterparty, in any state, before their product ships or their service is provided.

Our vision

A cannabis industry where trade credit moves on independent evidence rather than instinct, and where a company’s payment record becomes an asset, it carries into every negotiation.

Paying well should be worth something.

Today it is invisible.

We believe the industry grows faster when the operators who pay reliably are recognized for it, and when the risk in the system is priced honestly rather than guessed at.

Our values and beliefs

Neutrality is structural, not a promise.

We analyze. We do not lend, collect, factor, buy debt, or hold a position in any transaction we score. Our only interest in a credit rating is that it is right.

Confidentiality is designed in, not bolted on.

AR data is de-identified on arrival. No contributor is identifiable in any output. No participant sees another participant’s ledger or customer list. Ever. This is how all commercial credit ratings operate.

This is analysis, not a blacklist or COD list.

A credit score that improves matters as much as one that falls. The purpose is to help operators transact confidently with good counterparties, not only to avoid bad ones.

Evidence before assertion.

We describe our method and our rigor. We do not claim more than the data supports, and we would rather say less than overstate.

Meet the team

The Reklaim Credit Solutions’ team brings together more than 130 years of experience across commercial credit, B2B collections, predictive modelling and data security, along with over 10 years of hands-on experience in the cannabis industry. That expertise is focused on one clear goal: helping operators identify payment risk early, before an unpaid invoice becomes a problem.

Predictive Scoring

A credit association and a credit rating and reporting agency both work with pooled data. They typically do fundamentally different things with it.

What A Credit Association Does

A credit association is a member organization where companies in the same industry typically meet in person or virtually, pool AR data and share payment experience on common customers. Members submit aging details, extended high credit amounts, amount owing, slow-30, slow-60, slow-90, and in return can see what other members have experienced with the same debtors.

Those meetings operate under strict legal constraint. Members may discuss what they have already done. They may not discuss what they intend to do, because disclosing forward-looking credit decisions to competitors raises antitrust exposure. Counsel is typically present for exactly that reason.

Where a score is produced from the pooled data, human analysts assign the weights to the aging buckets. Those weights do not change on their own. Every slow-30 payer is treated the same way regardless of context or trajectory. Coverage is bound by membership, so a counterparty’s behavior with non-members is invisible to the model, as is its broader financial condition.

This is genuinely useful information. It is also a record of what has already happened, and the credit decision that follows it is judgmental. This is, by design, not a prediction of what will occur in the future.

What A Credit Rating and Reporting Agency Does

A credit rating and reporting agency independently evaluates a business and issues a standardized credit score. It gathers data, applies proprietary advanced analytical models, and produces an assessment that stands on its own as a decision tool. The output is not simply a consensus of member experience. It is an independent conclusion about how likely a counterparty is to meet its obligations going forward.

Moody’s, S&P, and Fitch operate at the capital markets level. Dun and Bradstreet, Experian and Reklaim operate at the commercial trade credit level. In either case the rating serves the party extending credit, not the party being rated.

The difference in one line: an association aggregates what its members already know, which is the past. A rating and reporting agency produces analysis that no single member could generate alone, and it is pointed at the future.
