Why we built it

We saw the problem from the inside

Before Reklaim Credit Solutions, our team spent decades building credit models, managing B2B collections and protecting sensitive data. Then we spent more than a decade working inside the cannabis industry and saw a major gap firsthand.

Operators were extending significant amounts of trade credit with limited information about who was likely to pay and who was not. Too often, those decisions came down to relationships, instinct and incomplete data.

When one customer stopped paying, the impact rarely ended there. The loss moved through the supply chain, affecting businesses that had little visibility into the risk in the first place.

We built Reklaim Credit Solutions to change that. By combining our experience in commercial credit, collections, predictive modelling, data security and cannabis, we are giving operators better information before they extend credit. Know more about us here.

What makes Reklaim Credit Solutions different

Members own the network

The data belongs to the operators who contribute it. We protect it, never expose customer lists, and make sure members get more value from the network than they put in.

Predictive, not descriptive

Last quarter’s numbers tell you what already happened. We build models that help operators understand what the next 90 days could look like while there is still time to act.

Built specifically for cannabis

Cannabis payment behavior does not fit generic commercial credit models. Reklaim is built around the realities of cannabis trade credit and the way this industry does business.

Kraig G. Fox, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Kraig G. Fox is a seasoned advisor, investor and operator in the music, live entertainment, media and cannabis industries. Over a 30 + year career, Mr. Fox has been a founding member and lead strategist behind some of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies and has overseen strategic M&A in excess of $10b.

Mr. Fox began his career working with Robert FX Sillerman in the consolidation of the United States radio industry in the early 1990’s. After an aggressive acquisition strategy, those stations were sold off to form the foundation for what today is iHeart Media. Following the sale, Mr. Fox was part of the founding team of what is now Live Nation where he was Chief Corporate Development Officer from 1995 until 2000 overseeing the global consolidation of the live entertainment industry into the world’s largest owner and operator of live entertainment promoters and producers.

Following the sale of Live Nation, Mr. Fox was a founder and Chief Operating Officer of Core Media where he ultimately oversaw the operations of this publicly traded company, including the estate of Elvis Presley, the intellectual property rights of Muhammad Ali, American Idol (including television, records, live tours, artist management and sponsorships) and So You Think You Can Dance. Core Media was ultimately sold to Apollo Global Management in a “go private” transaction.

Following the sale of Core Media, Mr. Fox became a Senior Managing Director of Eldridge Industries (a successor entity to the media assets of Guggenheim Partners) where he focused on Eldridge’s overall strategy in the media and entertainment spaces, as well as the management of its media and entertainment investments, which included dick clark productions, Billboard Magazine and the Hollywood Reporter.

Since 2014, Mr. Fox has been an active investor, advisor and operator in the cannabis space and is a managing partner of a boutique cannabis fund. Mr. Fox is also the founder and principal of U-Bet Advisory, a media, live event and cannabis advisory business where he focuses on executive coaching, strategic planning, M&A and capital raising.

Mr. Fox is a graduate of Syracuse’s University’s SI Newhouse School of Public Communications where he was named part of the 50 Forward, acknowledging the accomplishments of 50 Newhouse Alumni in celebration of the school’s 50th anniversary. Mr. Fox also has a JD from Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Dean School of Law.

Sam Fensterstock, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer

Sam Fensterstock has spent more than 35 years in commercial credit, credit scoring, accounts receivable and collections. He the 90’sco-founded RetailStat and CreditRiskMonitor, helped grow PredictiveMetrics before its acquisition by FIS in 2011, and went on to spend fourteen years as Senior Vice President of Business Development at AG Adjustments, one of the largest B2B commercial collection agencies in the United States, where he helped more than double revenue and drew the private equity transaction that formed Cadex Solutions. Across four companies and a reverse IPO, an acquisition, and a private equity exit, the discipline has been consistent: process, accountability, and execution.

That experience maps directly onto the cannabis opportunity. The same accounts receivable problems Sam has helped companies solve for decades in mainstream industries exist in cannabis in a more acute form, magnified by federal banking constraints, fragmented state markets, and the absence of any shared credit standard. As Chief Revenue Officer, he will lead the contributory network that sits at the center of Reklaim’s model, bringing operators and suppliers into the data-sharing relationships that make forward-looking credit intelligence possible.

Sam and has also written and spoken about cannabis trade credit since 2017 and was member of the NICA’s Banking and Financial Services committee from 2017-2021.  At Reklaim Credit Solutions, he focuses on cannabis trade credit, credit risk, payment behavior, AR management, commercial credit scoring and collections.

Albert “Albie” Fensterstock, Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist

For the past 40 years, Albie has been a driving force in commercial credit and collections, building analytics, scoring models, and delivery systems that helped define the commercial credit information and risk analysis space today.

Albie was a co-founder of both RetailStat and CreditRiskMonitor, where he helped develop all aspects of the service deliverables, analytical frameworks, scoring models, and delivery methods that brought both companies to market. He then became a consultant to PredictiveMetrics, at the time one of the leading custom credit and collection scoring and modeling companies in the country, started by the former leaders of the scoring group at D&B. His work helped lead the company to its acquisition by FIS in 2011.

For the past 15 years, Albie has led Albert Fensterstock Associates, a boutique consulting firm specializing in machine learning and neural network modeling for commercial credit and collections.

Before entering the credit risk space, Albie spent many years as a consultant for several large accounting and consulting firms and spent most of the late 1970s and early 1980s as CFO and CIO of Hebrew National Kosher Foods.

Albie holds an undergraduate degree from MIT and a graduate business degree from Columbia University.

At Reklaim, Albie architects neural network ensemble models that turn real accounts receivable data from real cannabis operators into credit scores, credit limits, and credit reports built specifically for the legal cannabis B2B market.

Ben Baker, Co-Chief Technology Officer

Ben Baker has spent his career working across economics, data engineering, and analytics. He co-founded Baneth & Baker Analytics with Julian Baneth, where the two support eCommerce brands ranging from $1 million to $100 million in annual revenue by building the cloud data platforms, marketing analytics, and reporting infrastructure that allow those companies to act on their numbers in real time.

He has also held roles at Albert Fensterstock Associates and in the UNC Charlotte Department of Economics, where he earned his M.S. in Economics.

At Reklaim, Ben serves as Co-Chief Technology Officer, sharing technical oversight of the company’s data pipeline architecture, model deployment, and platform scalability with Julian Baneth. His role is hands-on as well as strategic. He built the pipeline that turns monthly accounts receivable data from cannabis operators into a clean, validated, entity-resolved dataset ready for credit modeling, and he is still actively involved in the company’s engineering, security, and compliance work.

Julian Baneth, Co-Chief Technology Officer

Julian is a data scientist and data engineer with a background in econometrics, predictive modeling, and quantitative analysis, bringing modern machine learning and cloud data infrastructure expertise to the commercial credit space.

Julian began his career as a Quantitative Modeling Analyst and Economist at Ally Bank, where he analyzed real-time economic data on labor markets, inflation, consumer behavior, and monetary policy, and contributed to the bank’s enterprise stress testing procedures overseen by the Federal Reserve.

Julian then worked at Albert Fensterstock Associates, where he applied statistics, predictive modeling, data science, and data engineering in a marketing analytics context. He went on to co-found Baneth & Baker Analytics, a data engineering and analytics firm that builds cloud data platforms, marketing analytics, and reporting infrastructure for eCommerce brands ranging from $1 million to $100 million in annual revenue, giving him hands-on expertise in building scalable, production-grade data systems.

Julian holds a graduate degree in Economics from UNC Charlotte.

At Reklaim Credit Solutions, Julian serves as Co-Chief Technology Officer alongside Ben Baker, jointly leading the technical build of the company’s credit intelligence platform end-to-end. Julian’s work spans the ingestion and transformation of data contributed by cannabis operators and other industry sources, the development and deployment of credit risk models, and the product systems that turn those models into actionable credit scores and risk insights for customers.
